The authorBorn and raised in Asheville, North Carolina, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Allen grew up with a love of books and an appreciation of good food (she credits her journalist father for the former and her mother, a fabulous cook, for the latter). In college, she majored in literature -- because, as she puts it, "I thought it was amazing that I could get a diploma just for reading fiction. It was like being able to major in eating chocolate." What I picked up felt more like a romance novel. The mystery was just coming and passing by while two woman finally found some love in their lives. Still I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The story is told from different point of views with Willa's being the most important. Still there is enough information on all characters to form an idea on their looks and characteristics. It is easy to connect to them too. There was a moment when I had the feeling Colin was not sincere and wanted something from Willa. I still did not really loose that feeling. The storyline as pointed out already surprised me I expected it to be about the haunted house and things happening there. Still it became clear very quick the author choose another path and it was not disturbing. Three stars for the Peach Keeper, nice, quick and entertaining read.
