City of Glass (Mortal Instruments)

City of Glass - Cassandra Clare Cassandra Clare was born to American parents in Teheran. She has traveled the world as a child and eventually ended up living in LA and New York. She has written various articles for entertainment magazines and tabloids. For more information about her you can visit her website http://www.cassandraclare.com/cms/home.Clary found out that to save her mom she has to travel to the City of Glass, also known as Alicante the capitol of Idris home to the Shadowhunters. Here Clary learns more about her family history. She gets introduced to Sebastian, a young shadowhunter who looks faintly familiar, bu she does not know why. While Valentine plans to attack the city to take over the reign of Alicante Shadowhunters and Downworlders must get over their hatred for each other to win the battle. Will they manage to do this....I am still not really convinced by this story. Maybe I got my hopes up to much with the reviews this series is getting by people who read other books I did like a lot. The book is again entertaining enough to finish it but despite the fact some very exciting and some very sad things have happened it does not touch me really. (Yeah I am one of those people who can sob over a good story or get freaked out by it). The description of the whole thing seems not to be complete enough and I cannot really connect with it. There are some surprising elements in this book you do not expect and are placed very well, I did not seem them coming and found them quite entertaining. Little spoiler... I found it very disturbing they where having a party on a day many dead people where buried.
