The authorCharlaine Harris has been a published novelist for over twenty-five years. A native of the Mississippi Delta, she grew up in the middle of a cotton field. Now she lives in southern Arkansas with her husband, her three children, three dogs, and a duck. The duck stays outside. The reviewAnd again a easy and entertaining read. This book is introducing another guy interested in Sookie though some of the others finally seem to move on. Though Sookie is not getting beaten up this time she does get shot. I hope she has a proper health insurance cause she really needs it. While Sookie is fighting off all the males throwing herself at her she is trying to solve a number of shootings on several shifters and weres. After being shot Sookie is back home in a day where she defeats a badass vampire without problem ending up with a hurt friend. Slowly I start to get the feeling Sookie is like a superwoman and those lazy supernaturals should be aware. There is enough action in this book but it is tying some loose ends too that where still there from previous books. Therefore this book is not really one in this series you can read on its own, you might miss some of the information.
