De boekhandelaarster uit Orvieto / druk 1

De boekhandelaarster uit Orvieto - Valentina Pattavina, Saskia Peterzon-Kotte The authorVallentina Pattavina was born in 1968 in Catania. Ze studied archeology and worked in theater. She has worked as an editor for the Einaudi publishing house where she edited books from Niccolo Ammaniti amongst others.De boekhandelaarster uit Orvieto is her first novel and has been reprinted several times. She has had a lot of positive reactions to her story. The film rights have been sold and her second novel L'Ășltima eredita has just been released. The reviewI had a very nice couple of hours with this book. There is poetry and mystery and animals and a nice surrounding which the author managed to describe very well. I could really feel myself sit in front if a little Italian tavern, some nice food, a glass of wine and people passing by. I could very well imagine the bookstore too and would really want to be in a bookstore like that. The main character is a middle aged woman running from the ghosts in her past. The story is told from her point of view which gives a clear view from her thoughts and ideas. The more important the character is to the protagonist the more they are described. I very much liked the character of Professor Paolini. Though the story is predictable it was very entertaining.
